Milestones La Perouse

Housed in the main entry room of the iconic Heritage listed 1882 Cable Station this exhibition serves as an introduction to La Perouse’s culture and history. La Perouse is a unique area of Sydney where Aboriginal people have had a continuous connection to Country dating back over 7,500 years.

A timeline from geology to Traditional Custodians, the Aboriginal Community to First Contact, French and other European Arrivals, Political and Social events including stories to the present day.

An important partnership with the Gujaga Foundation ensuring the inclusion of Aboriginal milestones as part of the Museum’s focus on First Nations voices.
